Raben Group incorporates former Rhenus business site in Fellbach

2017.01.05
Following checks made by the monopolies commission, Raben Trans European Germany took over the business operations of the former Rhenus business sites in Fellbach and Weilimdorf in the form of an asset deal on 1 January this year. The purchase contract was signed as early as 21 July. Raben will continue to operate the freight forwarding sites under its own name.

Raben is consolidating its network in southern Germany by taking over these business sites, which specialise in transportation for national break bulk cargo. There are no changes to the contact partners for customers.

“The region around the state capital of Stuttgart is one of the strongest economic metropolitan areas and one of the major high-tech sites in Europe. We’re doing all in our power to successfully continue the long-standing customer relationships at the business sites and expand them,” says Ewald Raben, CEO of the Raben Group.

Many of the customers at the freight forwarding sites in Fellbach and Weilimdorf are automobile suppliers or come from the retail or health care sectors. They are mainly small and medium enterprises. Fellbach was already a partner in the Raben Trans European network prior to the acquisition. The business site has two logistics centres, including a cross-docking area.
