Raben Ukraine intends to focus on e-commerce in 2021

2020.10.08
In 2021, Raben Ukraine intends to focus on the development of e-commerce as part of the contract logistics segment and continue to increase its technical effectiveness given its rapid growth and development dynamics in 2020.

Today, everyone sees the need to be online because this is the sales channel with the highest year-on-year growths and these are double-digit growths. This evolution in sales also affects the evolution of the entire logistics sector which has to follow the demands of the market.

“Raben Ukraine supports the development of its customers and actively seeks the most modern solutions in the sector. We invests in state-of-the-art warehouses and develop our IT systems. We talk to many of our customers and partners about long-term cooperation, development of e-commerce and further automation. There are many topics on the table. We will develop them in the coming years.” – comments Michal Kowal, Director of Contract Logistics Department at Raben Ukraine.

During 2020 e-commerce in Raben Ukraine is showing impressive results.

The key changes relate to innovative IT technologies. In the first half of 2020, together with key international clients several projects were successfully implemented ensuring the maximum integration of the individual client system into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) system of Raben Ukraine.

As a result, each of the customers received several additional benefits. First, the lead times have been reduced. Second, the production processes are fully traced; they are highly automated, respectively, the probability of errors is minimal. The quality of service has significantly increased, which in turn has increased customer satisfaction.

“We have always been a customer-oriented company and attentive to all customer requirements. This year we managed to make the service even more up to date in the field of IT. Now our systems and customer systems are much closer to each other,” adds Michal Kowal, Director of Contract Logistics Department at Raben Ukraine.

E-commerce in Raben Ukraine is a complex service. It is focused on three areas: storage of products for online sale with the use of a warehouse management system that supports and controls all warehousing activities and functions, preparation of shipments (picking, packing, preparing shipment documents, printing and attaching invoices to the shipments), and handling product returns and replacements (recording return reasons in the system, transferring the returned products to stock, individual process of handling returned or damaged products and shipments as agreed with the online shop).

Just to remind, back in July Raben Ukraine has fully automated the process of transmitting information to courier services by introducing a software product – Last Mile Connector – an innovative solution for warehousing infrastructure. Last Mile Connector became part of the integration project between Warehouse Management System (WMS) of Raben Ukraine and a similar system of one of the key clients.

Raben Ukraine has been working on the logistics market since 2003. It offers a full range of logistic services for contract logistics, international and domestic transportation as well as sea and air freight services. The company has about 500 employees. It also has about 70 000m² of warehouse space (including regions) and about 600 vehicles at own disposal.
